Stay Hipp At Home

Staying raw on the right track....need help!

Is there anyone else out there that has had trouble staying 100% raw? I find that I do well during the day but then the nightime gets me....that's when I fall off the wagon! This seems to happen about 1-2x per week and my goal is to be 100% raw because I am healing from cancer----any ideas, support or something I am missing? I don't have anyone else around me doing this so my cravings get the best of me...please help!! I feel like sometimes I am being deprived from some of my favorite foods and then I feel guilty after the fact....oh--what to do.....I want to eat clean, healthy and raw to cure myself!!

Are you juicing enough? I find that when I don't juice at least 2x per day, I cheat pretty bad. But when I juice 2-3 times a day, I don't cheat. Also if you are a night owl, then juice later than 4:00.

Actually, I am not always juicing that often---is that the answer? I always juice in th A.M. but usually get busy or lazy in the P.M. and forget. I will start doing that to get rid of the cravings.....thank you so much for the input---I need all the help I can get! :)

Hi Sherrie
I've had a similar problem. I think Chad's right. I stepped up what I was doing a couple of days ago and made myself have a juice in the afternoon / evening as well. It seems to be working. My cravings are nowhere near as bad as they were and I've managed to get back on a 100% raw track for the past two days.
You can do it.
All the best
Ola

Sherrie,

First, stop beating yourself up. "Progress, not Perfection"
OK, so you're only 90% raw (right now). That's amazing. Six weeks ago you weren't even 50% raw, much less live food. See how far you've come.

So, lighten up. A little cooked food is not the end of the world.
"DON'T PANIC"

What would you say to you dearest friend if she "fell of the wagon"? Say that to yourself.

And pay attention to when it happens. What time is it? How are you feeling? What is running throught your thoughts? Is there something in particular that you crave? What's your trigger food?

Just observe what's going on; that's the key.

Mark

P.S. Jeanie has noticed that juicing reduces her sugar craving.

Thank you Mark!!! I need to hear that... I believe alot of it is emotional due to being a sugar freak before I became a Raw Vegan....Also--other factors are included as well....work, being tired, ect..... Thanks a million----love and miss you guys!

Sherrie,
What I've been doing is making a double batch of juice in the morning and drinking the second half @ 4pm. It seems to hold up OK in the fridge.

When I'm really busy, I juice 4 oz of wheat grass in the morning drink half and add the other half to juice the stored. Not perfect, but it'll have to do for now. Maybe in my next life I'll be perfect.

What has taken all of my cravings away is making sure I get plenty of greens either juiced or in a salad. Also, I take a T. of blue green algae a day. Hope this helps. Pam

Juicing helps me, as well. The greener the better. I make a double portion of juice in the evening (no time in the morning) and I store half of it in airtight glass jars in the refrigerator. Morning comes, I give it a shake, pop in a straw, and I'm ready to go.

Hi, Sherrie
E3live Blue-Green algae helps for me. I hope you find much info which demonstrates it really does work.
Best wishes,

Hi Sherrie, I'm a raw food chef here in the Plantation, Florida, area. How about looking up on line where you could find raw food potlucks or classes. There's nothing like having like minded individuals around you for support! You'd be surprise how many people want to increase their vegetables. If there isn't a potluck club in your area, start one! Good luck, Lisa

Hi Sherrie! It's tough I know.

Do you make some raw food treats which might resemble some of your favorite "old" foods? Such as raw brazil nut/date cake with coconut cream frosting? (Depending on your weaknesses ?-) Or maybe just having a very potent green kale smoothie on hand to fight the cravings a la Victoria Boutenko and "The Green For Life" book?

Anyways, maybe a buddy you can call before indulging to share what you are craving, what feelings are up for you?

What town are you in. I"m in New York mid-Hudson valley.

Best wishes,
Cindy
